Anjuli Mishra Cameron | CEO

she/her

Anjuli Mishra Cameron serves as SEWA-AIFW’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In her capacity as CEO, Anjuli provides SEWA-AIFW with strategic direction towards the organizational mission and oversight in its day-to-day operations. She brings an extensive background in community-based research in state government and at academic institutions. Anjuli’s research experience, combined with nearly two decades of community engagement experience help to address the complex issues faced by South Asians and underserved communities across Minnesota. Prior to joining SEWA-AIFW, Anjuli served as research director for the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans, where she led statewide coalitions, advocated for legislative policies, and published original research on behalf of Asian Pacific Minnesotans. She serves on a number of boards and advisory bodies, including the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Metropolitan Council. Anjuli holds a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Carleton College and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medical Science

Raj Chaudhary | Former CEO

Mrs. Raj Chaudhary was born and raised in India and moved to the US in 1967. She and her husband have been married for 50+ years and, have three children and five grandchildren. She is the founder of SEWA and has been working to help the community since 2004. She has won numerous awards including –

Her broad expertise in advocacy, includes domestic violence, human trafficking, health disparities, equal employment, elder populations, race, ethnicity, board development, legal custody, substance abuse, and public housing have been the key to SEWA’s success.

Mubina Qureshi | Co-Executive Director

she/they

Mubina Qureshi is a queer, survivor,  community advocate, research scholar, and Executive Co-Director at SEWA-AIFW. She is leading gender-based programming - violence prevention and intervention programs, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and community educational training. She is passionate about caste, class, and gender intersectional issues in Global South Asian countries. Her PhD. research is focused on Islamic Feminism and South Asian Muslim Women writers. She has over a decade of experience in teaching and training undergrad and graduate students in India. Mubina is a Humphrey Policy Fellow (2022-23), University of Minnesota, and a MINN Fellow - Minnesota International NGO Network (2023-24). She serves the board of National Coalition South Asian SOAR and Queer Equity Institute QEI. She also serves on the Advisory Committee of Sarah's Transitional Home.

Dasharath Yata | Co-Executive Director

Dasharath Yata was born in a village in Nalgonda district, Telangana State, India and studied at Osmania University, Hyderabad. He moved to the US in 2011. His wife Padma Yata is an Enterprise Data Architect – IT at Medica and they have two kids in college. He is extremely dedicated and highly involved in all the various health based projects for SEWA dealing with mental health, community outreach and civic engagement. He organizes three free health clinics a month in the Twin Cities area and educates people about the high rates of diabetes and cholesterol problems. He also works with over 35 partner organizations on providing culturally specific services to the community through education and training.

Atul Mishra | Medical Director

Dr. Mishra graduated from MLN Medical College Allahabad UP India in 1982. He moved to Minnesota shortly after, and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. He questioned his decision when he first moved, and wondered whether or not he had actually relocated to the North Pole. His wife, Usha, likes the warmer climate, but Dr. Mishra prefers Minnesota and its colder climate. Growing up, Dr. Mishra looked up to his grandfather. His grandfather would ask his 26 grandchildren, “Why do the branches of an apple tree come down when it is laden with fruit?” His grandchildren would respond that it is because of the weight. His grandfather would then respond with, “The branches come down so people in need can quench their thirst, satisfy their hunger, and be happy. When you all grow up, I want you each to try an be an apple tree for others.” That advice has led Dr. Mishra to SEWA-AIFW, where he has volunteered with his wife for years. He loves the work he has done as a physician and at SEWA because it allows him to help the community and fulfill his dream of being “an apple tree” for those in need.

Shekhar Alluri | Director of Operations

Shekhar Alluri joined SEWA-AIFW as Director of Operations after being a longtime volunteer and serving on the board. He brings his 25 years’ experience working in IT industry that includes 20 years’ experience working and managing projects for Target.  He holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering with experience managing construction projects that includes working on the most complex railroad project (Konkan Railway) before switching his career and moving onto software.

With his lived experience as an immigrant, he is conscious about civic, cultural challenges faced by immigrants assimilating into their adopted homeland. He is a compassionate leader with a passion for connecting the community with the resources available. He believes in a growth mindset, being intentional and deliberate the key to overcoming obstacles and realizing expected outcomes.
 

Srivani Ganji | Program Coordinator (Women & Victim Services)

she/her

Vani was born and raised in India where she got her Master’s degree in Computer Applications. She moved to Minnesota in 2005 after graduating. Her favorite place in Minnesota is Duluth, especially in the fall as she loves seeing the changing colors. Vani has been working at SEWA since 2018. She enjoys working at SEWA because it was the only Asian organization that could help her during a tough time in her life. In her free time she likes watching movies, spending time with her kids, and making (and eating) her favorite homemade Desi foods.

Srividhya Srinivasan | Program Specialist (Senior Services)

she/her

Srividhya was born and raised in a village in Tamil Nadu, India. She graduated from Madurai Kamaraj University. In 2000, she moved to MN where she lives with her husband and 2 kids. She began volunteering at the Hindu Mandir of MN and the Maple Grove Hospital before she discovered SEWA. In 2020, she began volunteering at SEWA-AIFW, and she officially joined the team soon after. Working with the SEWA-AIFW family has been a rewarding experience for her. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her puppy, shopping, watching Tamil & Telugu films, going on walks, and doing yoga. She also enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes and appliances.

Rohini Ramanuj | Program Coordinator (Senior Services)

Rohini was born in Chennai, India and came to the USA 35 years ago with her husband. When she came to MN in 2009, she went back to school at HTC and got a degree in Floral Arrangement and Business Operations. She was introduced to SEWA-AIFW when she was taking care of her sister-in-law, who was diagnosed with a serious illness. SEWA helped with her care and she became one of SEWA’s first senior clients in Minnesota. Later when the opportunity presented itself, she was very happy to return the favor and join SEWA-AIFW’s team. The time she has spent serving the people within SEWA has been the most fulfilling part of her life so far. Outside of work her hobbies are cooking, taking walks with her husband, watching sports, spending time with her kids, going on cruises, relaxing, traveling by motorcycle around the country, and watching Indian movies.

Anil Gurung | Program Coordinator (Meals & Transportation Services)

Anil has been working with SEWA-AIFW since February of 2021. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma. In the past, he has worked at Best Buy, Target, Burlington, and the DRC. Anil enjoys working at a nonprofit because it has been a new experience that allows him to be around different mindsets and do selfless work. In his spare time, Anil enjoys hiking and visiting new places.

Bharati Mehta | Program Coordinator (Neurodiversity & Senior Services)

Bharati is an Occupational Therapist who practiced in North Dakota for nearly 36 years  working with various patients from premature babies in the NICU to seniors in their homes. She helped those who needed assistance to be independent in their life.  She moved to the Twin Cities in 2019 and began looking for volunteer opportunities within the South Asian community. She started to volunteer at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota after moving. She heard about SEWA while volunteering there, and she wanted to be involved in our aim of total wellness for the South Asian community in Minnesota. She began as a volunteer, then eventually joined our team! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, exercises and traveling.

Aarti Raghavachari | Youth Engagement Representative

she/her

Aarti was born and raised in the United States, where she received her undergraduate degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Chinese, and International Human Rights from the University of Cincinnati. She has been working for SEWA-AIFW since June of 2022, and is newer to the Twin Cities communities. She is particularly passionate about engaging with and uplifting South Asian youth, LGBTQ+ and gender-expansive individuals in her work. She also serves as Program Coordinator for the Karuna Women Lead mentorship program at SEWA, and she enjoys working with South Asian individuals in getting the personal and professional resources they need to thrive. Her current praxis and beliefs are informed by grassroots organizing, feminist international relations, BIPOC queer and trans liberation, survivor-based healing, transformative justice, and so much more. Her first language is Tamil, and she is a speaker of Hindi and Chinese as well. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, mastering languages, singing, gathering tips on interior design, and learning about different plants and succulents!

Amina Baha | Director of Refugee Resettlement

she/her

Amina Baha is the Director of Refugee Resettlement at SEWA, where she leads efforts to support and resettle new arrivals, drawing on her extensive experience in community advocacy and program management. A passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and economic empowerment, she served on several boards in the Twin Cities, actively promoting these values. As a Hubert Humphrey Policy Fellow, she is deeply engaged in policy and advocacy, focusing on global politics, women’s empowerment, and social justice.

Amina made history as the first woman in her family to graduate from college and run for public office in Minnesota. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree and has over 15 years of experience in I.T. and program development. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, she worked in healthcare I.T., contributing to projects aimed at improving healthcare access, quality, and reducing healthcare disparities.

She also played a pivotal role in supporting Afghan evacuees during the 2021 U.S. evacuation, providing critical assistance to those in need. As the founder of the Afghan Cultural Society, she has been a key figure in helping immigrants and refugees navigate their new environments.

An avid traveler, Amina has visited over 20 countries and 50+ cities, with 60 more on her list to explore. She lives in the northeast suburbs with her husband of 16 years and their two children and speaks Pashto, Farsi, Hindi/Urdu, and understands Punjabi.

Yasamin Naimee | Family Education Specialist

Yasamin is a new member on the SEWA-AIFW Resettlement team working as a Family Education Specialist. She was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and moved to the United States in 2024. Yasamin did her schooling and college in Kabul, with a diploma in Banking. Yasamin, lives here with her spouse and enjoys going for walks together. In her free time, Yasamin like to read books, enjoys nature, shopping, meet friends and family, and is learning how to speak English fluently. Yasamin speaks fluently in Persian.

Shradha Ahmed | Program Coordinator

Shradha Ahmed is a program coordinator on the Emotional and Wellness Support Program for SEWA-AIFW. She has been a lifelong resident of MN, an active member of the local South Asian community since her youth seeing its transformation over the years. Shradha received her BA in Psychology and Studio Arts from Gustavus Adolphus College, and Masters in Social Work, from the University of Minnesota, and holds the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
Over the course of several years, Shradha has a variety of experience working within the social service sector at the individual, family and community level. Maintaining a focus on diversity/inclusivity of all kinds, Shradha has held roles that have encompassed direct service provision, service coordination, collaboration, as well as education in the areas of prevention/early intervention, mental health, community and capacity building in both professional and volunteering spaces.
Shradha, enjoys making and nurturing connections, spending time with family, traveling, arts and crafts, music of various styles and dancing. Shradha is excited to have found a space within SEWA where she can unify her professional passions and her devotion to community.

Mohammad Mohammadi | Family Resource Navigator

Mohammad Mohammadi was born and raised in Afghanistan, where he pursued his passion for civil engineering. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to lead numerous construction projects, contributing significantly to infrastructure development in his home country. With over five years of experience as a Construction Engineer and Manager, Mohammad honed his technical expertise and developed a problem-solving mindset.

In 2023, Mohammad relocated to the United States, bringing his commitment to community service and a desire to make a positive impact.

He now serves as a dedicated Family Resource Navigator at SEWA-AIFW, where he provides critical support to immigrant and refugee families, helping them access the resources and services needed to thrive in their new communities. Drawing from his personal experience navigating the challenges of resettlement and his professional background, Mohammad bridges the gap between technical solutions and human needs. His mission is to empower vulnerable populations, advocate for their well-being, and foster a sense of belonging in the communities he serves.

 

Abdul Bari Ahmadzai | Family Education Specialist

Abdul Bari Ahmadzai is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in design, quality control, and project management. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and is currently pursuing a PhD at Southeast University. Abdul Bari has held various prestigious roles, including serving as Dean of the Engineering Faculty at Zam Zam University and working as a civil engineer for national and international organizations like ActionAid, IDLG, and MADERA. He has contributed to high-profile projects funded by the World Bank, UNHCR, and ActionAid International.

With expertise in structural analysis, construction management, and advanced engineering software, Abdul has led multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects. His academic contributions include research on the shear performance of RC beams, published in international journals. Fluent in Pashtu, Dari, English, and conversant in Urdu, Abdul’s cross-cultural communication skills make him highly effective in international settings. Currently, he serves as a Family Education Specialist at SEWA-AIFW, where he supports immigrant and refugee families. Passionate about innovation in construction methods and sustainable engineering practices, Abdul continues to make a meaningful impact in his professional and community work.

Obaidullah Khaliqyar | Sewa resettlement Team Member

Obaidullah has developed a well-rounded skill set through a blend of academic achievements and professional experiences. Beginning his career as a President’s Guard at the Afghan Presidential Palace, he showcased discipline and adaptability in high-pressure environments. After evacuating Afghanistan unexpectedly, he rebuilt his life in Minnesota and immediately began working with local companies, further honing his customer service, resource management, and teamwork abilities.

These roles enhanced his expertise in client needs assessment and communication. Alongside his professional journey, Obaidullah earned a Bachelor of Law & Political Science, demonstrating his dedication to academic and personal growth. Fluent in Pashto and Dari, he leverages his multilingual communication skills and a strong commitment to contributing meaningfully as a member of the Sewa resettlement team.
